Event’s English presentation

The 22th March 2010 is going to be the World Water day. To celebrate both this date and the 50th birthday of their school, the students of ENGEES (Engineering School of Water and Environment of Strasbourg), gathered in the student organization AQUAème, have appropriate this date to create an event called “A l’eau la Terre ? Ici Strasbourg !”.
This public demonstration is going to take place from 19th to 22th March 2010, everywhere in the Bas-Rhin’s department. It will give information and make a large part of people aware of water issues, through the theme : “9 billions of people by 2050… and what about water ?”. Activities of all kinds are accessible to everybody and are located in several places of the Bas-Rhin’s department.

This diversity is made up a thought, which is developed on the occasion of conferences and lectures at the European Parliament and “the music and dance complex” (la cité de la musique et de la danse). There are photos exposures too, guided tours and children education (for example at the “Vaisseau”), to attain an awareness of water and environment.

Every topic on water is dealt with, from local to global scale. Nevertheless, the first ambition of this demonstration consists in a water celebration, with an artistic interest. That’s why a water festival of film is organized, as well as dance, music and humorous performances… and all of that at the most free !

This is just a global vision, you can see the entire composition of the event on our website : www.aleaulaterre.eu. It’s on this website too you must register you to participate in the Parliament lectures or in some exposures and guided tours.

With the visit of politicians and water specialists, everything seems to be combined to make this favourite event of the foundation of Nicolas Hulot, a nice weekend celebrating the blue gold of our Earth.
